The African adaption Acceleration Program (AAAP), a strategic partnership initiative between the Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA) and the African Development Bank Group, aims to raise $25 billion to expand and expedite climate change adaption efforts throughout Africa.
Youth Adapt: Empowering Youth for Entrepreneurship and Job Creation in Climate Adaptation and Resilience is one of the program’s four flagships. Through the Africa Youth Adaptation #YouthADAPT Challenge, AAAP is expanding youth innovations for climate change as part of the Youth ADAPT program.
This cohort exclusively focuses on female-owned businesses that are developing innovations and technology from the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) for climate adaptation in Africa, with a particular focus on tackling gender inequality in their solutions.
AI, big data analytics, VR, robotics, IoT, quantum computing, blockchain, additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and fifth-generation wireless are a few examples of 4IR technologies.
In Africa, these ought to be the kinds of answers that are applied to actual climate problems. The Africa Climate Change Fund (ACCF), which is administered by the African Development Bank, is providing funding for this call for applications.
