Applications are being accepted by the Joke Waller-Hunter Initiative for young civil society leaders in poor nations.
By promoting transformation in the environmental sector through specialized small grants, JWHI assists the next generation of environmental leaders. They open up the possibilities of the environment for instruction, training, and increasing organizational capability.
Nomination Criteria
They concentrate on young people who have the capacity for and interest in improving their leadership and who work for or are connected to environmental CSOs in developing nations and rising economies. Candidates may hail from any country, excluding “advanced economies.” They understand that the notion of “young” depends on the situation and is not absolute. However, young persons under the age of 35 will be given preference.
Candidates that exhibit
Potential and a desire to lead in their line of work are excellent candidates.
working with or connected to civil society organizations, community-based organizations, or local communities.
Totally supporting the concepts of gender equality, sustainable development, and climate justice.
Having experience working on environmental and sustainable development issues and being dedicated to doing so.
Demonstrating the ability and desire to think creatively and innovatively.
Depending on the need and interest of the recipient, the grant may be used for a variety of purposes. The majority of grantees ask for money to further their education, acquire new skills, or broaden their experience through internships, exposure trips, exchange programs, conferences, high-level meetings, etc. It is essential that the desired activities be solely for personal growth and should not be a component of a bigger organizational endeavor.
