Asili Kwanza, founded by Isaac Ndyamuhaki, has been at the forefront of providing safe, affordable, and sustainable cooking solutions in Uganda. Since its inception in 2018, the company has made significant strides in promoting smart cooking through the production of improved charcoal briquettes and cookstoves.

The briquettes, which emit significantly lower levels of harmful gases compared to traditional charcoal, have proven to be both cost-effective and efficient, burning longer and cleaner.

In October 2023, Asili Kwanza conducted tests on their briquettes, revealing an emission significance of just 0.002—well below the industry standard of 0.006. This accomplishment demonstrates the company’s dedication to spreading healthy cooking habits and lowering indoor air pollution.
Isaac Ndyamuhaki highlighted the company’s success in gaining a strong customer base, primarily through word-of-mouth referrals, with a database exceeding 700 clients.
Looking ahead, Asili Kwanza plans to expand its production capacity and enhance its marketing efforts. The company is also focused on creating more employment opportunities for the youth, furthering its impact on the community.
Asili Kwanza keeps raising the bar in Uganda’s renewable energy industry by providing workable answers for environmentally friendly cooking despite the 85% population in Uganda still using firewood and charcoal.
