100,000 NOK available for Grants to Fight Climate Change – Apply now

For its funding program to support local people, combat climate change, and halt unsustainable mass tourism, the Hurtigruten Foundation is currently accepting applications.

Hurtigruten Foundation have decided to concentrate on three issues: protecting threatened and endangered species, cleaning up marine debris, and helping the communities in the areas where they operate.

The normal range of grants, which are given out in Norwegian Krone (NOK), is between 50,000 and 100,000 NOK. Depending on the project, the board may consider lesser or bigger amounts. There are no set percentages that must be met, but candidates should look into other legal public funding options.

Funding will be allocated towards grass roots, environmental, community-based, science research, and educational projects.

Eligibility Criteria

Any organization seeking to carry out initiatives or activities relevant to their objectives and the regions where they conduct business. If a strong case for the public good can be shown, they may consider grant requests from private businesses, commercial organizations, individuals, hospitals, houses of worship, private members clubs, and other institutions with closed or exclusive membership.

The Foundation Board evaluates all submissions, paying particular attention to initiatives that have a big impact on priorities. However, demand frequently outstrips supply, thus not all applications will be accepted. Applications may be accepted at any time, and decisions are final. The Board only approves projects that have been completed and does not take into account several applications from the same organisation at once. Every initiative must clearly state how it will benefit society and the environment.
